LED for fire station

MOUNT DESERT — The town will spend $14,846 to convert lighting in the main fire station in Northeast Harbor from fluorescent bulbs to LEDs.

The Board of Selectmen Monday night approved the use of funds from a fire department reserve account for the project. King Electric of Ellsworth submitted the winning bid.

Fire Chief Mike Bender said lights in the fire station’s truck bays, tool room and storage room would be switched to “high-efficient LED luminaries.”
