BAR HARBOR — After 23 years of dedicated service, Certified Nurse Midwife Linda Robinson has left Mount Desert Island Hospital and the Lisa Stewart Women’s Health Center to pursue her next adventure. Robinson’s last day with the organization was Tuesday, July 7.

As a founding member of the Lisa Stewart Women’s Health Center, Robinson’s commitment to women’s health on MDI has improved the health and the lives of countless women and girls, mothers, daughters, families and children, hospital officials said.

Robinson will remain an integral part of the care community that she and fellow providers Jane Tawney and Mary Dudzik and Health Center Practice Manager Carmen Sanford sought to provide when they founded the Women’s Health Center in 1993. “I do not intend to leave the area. Mount Desert Island is my home, and I remain committed to working for the needs of women here,” she said. “I will remain a driving force on the Women’s Health Center Advisory Committee and hope to expand our educational offerings to women, girls and families in our community.”

MDI Hospital is now in the process of recruiting a new full-time nurse midwife to carry on Robinson’s tradition of excellent care. “The entire MDI Hospital family wishes Linda the very best as she embarks on her next adventure. Her spirit, compassion and dedication are unparalleled and will truly be missed,” said Art Blank, MDI Hospital president and CEO.

Robinson wished to thank her patients, colleagues and friends for the amazing journey that they have shared. “I am filled with gratitude for all the loyalty, support, friendship and camaraderie. I look forward to seeing you around the community for years to come.”

Help celebrate Robinson and her 23 years of dedicated service to the community at the Lisa Stewart Women’s Health Center at 330 Main St. on Thursday, July 16, from 4:30-7 p.m. Contact the health center at 288-8100.
