Wellness fair planned



MOUNT DESERT — Village Health & Wellness will hold a Spring Wellness Fair at Mount Desert Elementary School on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fair will feature approximately 30 to 40 local health and wellness professionals and will benefit the VHW network and the school’s garden and greenhouse project.

Offerings will include holistic therapy sessions with local professions in the areas of massage, energetic bodywork, craniosacral, reiki and psychic work. Local experts will speak on topics such as Lyme disease, gut health and autism. Vendors will sell wellness-related items, such as wellness inspired jewelry, art and herbal medicines. Sassafras Catering will sell food. Other local businesses that are participating are Sage Moon Apothecary, Destination Health, Lodestar Holistic Wellness, Brazilian Jujitsu, Chris Brown Farms, A Stone’s Throw to Health, MDI Skatepark Association and more. A silent auction with items donated from local practitioners and businesses will also be held. Features seedlings grown and potted by Mount Desert Elementary School students will be featured in a seedling sale.

Village Health & Wellness formed in January 2015 and has been holding monthly health clinics that are cost by donation to serve our communities on the third Saturday of every month at the NEH Library. This is the second Spring Wellness Fair.
