SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Senior Chief Petty Officer Christopher Bouchard arrived at the Coast Guard field office here this week after being relieved of his duties as officer in charge of the 87-foot Coastal Patrol Boat Moray, homeported in Jonesport, Coast Guard officials said in a statement.
Bouchard’s assignment to Southwest Harbor is temporary. He was relieved from his duties on Moray “for loss of confidence in the ability to command,” the statement said. Final determination regarding a permanent removal or resumption of command is made by the Commandant of the Coast Guard in Washington, D.C.
Lt. Nolan Cuevas, commanding officer of the cutter Grand Isle, has assumed temporary command of the cutter Moray. Senior Chief Petty Officer Charles Petronis remains the current officer in charge of Station Jonesport.
