BAR HARBOR — Department of Marine Resources Commissioner Patrick Keliher will be present at the Lobster Zone B council meeting on Thursday, Dec. 15. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Mount Desert Island High School library. Keliher will be on hand for discussion of the recently enacted Swans Island limited-entry rule.
Also, “he’ll be talking about concerns by Zone B harvesters about an influx of Zone C license holders fishing in Zone B,” said DMR spokesman Jeff Nichols. “He’ll also be open to other questions and conversations.
State Rep. Brian Hubbell (D-Bar Harbor) also will be present to discuss his recent bill proposal to do away with double-tagging for new commercial lobster license holders while grandfathering in those who currently practice double-tagging.
