SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Dennis Damon will speak about the present and future of Gulf of Maine fisheries Saturday, Feb. 9 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at the Southwest Harbor Public Library.
Damon is a fourth-generation commercial fisherman. He is a former state senator and chaired the legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources.
Currently, he serves as the board chair of the Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries, whose mission statement is to “secure a sustainable future for fisheries and fishing communities in Eastern Maine and beyond.”
