ACADIA NATIONAL PARK — A Bar Harbor charter fishing boat being transported between harbors was taking on water Tuesday and adrift off the Ocean Drive here.

A mayday call for the party fishing boat Tiger Shark went out around 10 a.m. Tuesday, harbormaster Charlie Phippen said. Only a captain was on board at the time and he was able to scramble to another vessel.

The boat was being transported when a hull plank let go and water began flooding in, according to the report, Phippen said.

Coast guard had 47 foot motor life boat on scene. Bar Harbor Firefighters responded to assist with the cleanup of fuel and motor oil leading from the vessel.
