Car rolls into Northeast Harbor

MOUNT DESERT – A Mount Desert woman was successful at launching her boat Sunday in Northeast Harbor. Unfortunately her vehicle soon followed the boat and trailer into the harbor.

According to police, Dru Colbert, 58, had just launched her boat at the Northeast Harbor Marina boat ramp when her 2009 Toyota and the empty boat trailer rolled backwards into the water.

Lieutenant Kevin Edgecomb said a faulty emergency brake most likely caused the accident.

No one was injured.

The Toyota, which is considered a total loss, was pulled from the harbor by Acadia Towing.
