‘Vaxxed’ to be screened

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Dick Atlee will show the controversial film “Vaxxed: From Cover-up to Catastrophe” at the Southwest Harbor Public Library on Tuesday, May 9, at 7 p.m.

“The film has been widely criticized as being ‘anti-vaccine’ by people who have never seen it,” said Atlee. “In fact, though, it is a story of fraud and corruption at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”

William Thompson was the CDC scientist in charge of data for the 2001-2004 CDC study that has been cited as proof that there is no connection between the MMR vaccine (or any other vaccine) and autism. However, in 2014, as a whistleblower, he turned over the original study data and internal documents showing that not only had the study shown the exact opposite, but that the CDC had gone to great lengths to manipulate and destroy data and cover up the MMR/autism connection.

Atlee has asked Dr. Meryl Nass, an expert on vaccines and bioterrorism, to join the conversation. Seating is limited. To reserve a seat, call the library at 244-7065.
