ACADIA NAT’L PARK — The Hancock County Trustees of Public Reservations are celebrating the transfer of their last land holdings on Mount Desert Island to Acadia National Park as part of the 2016 Centennial Celebrations. The event is set for Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Blue Hill Overlook on Cadillac Mountain.

The ceremony will highlight the significant role played by the trustees in the formation and establishment of the park and acknowledge their work with the dedication of a historical marker that was recently placed at the Blue Hill Overlook on Cadillac Mountain.

The marker was installed on a granite boulder from Hall Quarry by Freshwater Stone of Orland.
