‘Tree-mergency’ in Tremont

TREMONT — When the Maine Department of Transportation was working on plans to rebuild the Clark Bridge in Tremont, residents requested that a particular Siberian elm tree near the bridge be protected from damage during the work.

Several people have voiced concerns that the construction crew is not adhering to residents’ wishes and the tree’s health may be compromised.

An informational meeting with MDOT is taking place in the Harvey Kelley Meeting Room of the Tremont Town Office tomorrow – Friday – at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.
