Three vie for two seats on town board

MOUNT DESERT — Three people have filed to run for two seats on the Mount Desert Board of Selectmen in the May 6 election.

Incumbents Matt Hart and Wendy Littlefield are joined in the race by Ian Schwartz. Last year, Schwartz ran in the Democratic primary for a state senate seat against Louis Luchini of Ellsworth. Luchini was elected in November.

Hart is running for his third three-year term on the board of selectmen. Littlefield was elected to a two-year term in 2017 following the resignation of Selectman Brian Reilly.

There are two candidates for two seats on the Mount Desert school committee: incumbents Todd Graham and Teresa King Leclair.

One of Mount Desert’s three seats on the MDI High School Board of Trustees is up for election this year. No one filed to run for that seat.

The filing deadline was last Thursday, March
