ALL IS BRIGHT … Santa was on hand for the lighting of the town Christmas tree Friday night on the Bar Harbor Village Green. After arriving by fire truck, Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted fans. Santa read “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and counted down to the lighting of the tree to greet the season.

INSPIRATION STRIKES … A gingerbread house creation by Stacey Gatcomb, above, featuring a miniature Village Green bandstand, a snowboarded, an ice skater at Glen Mary and a convincing hobbit house was the grand prize winner at the Bar Harbor Historical Society’s third annual Gingerbread House Contest on Saturday.
