LINE CROSSED … Gail Leiser addresses a rally in Bar Harbor April 5 organized by Indivisible MDI, in coordination with more than a hundred other gatherings nationwide, after U.S. Attorney General William Barr did not release the full report by special prosecutor Robert Mueller by April 2. “The U.S. House of Representatives voted unanimously to request the full report, and a broad majority of Americans believe that Congress and the public have a right to know what Mueller found,” the group said in a statement. Fred Benson of Mount Desert, a former White House staffer, addressed the rally about the importance of transparency in government.

SUCESSFUL RESCUE … A team from Allied Whale at College of the Atlantic responded to a call of a juvenile Atlantic white-sided dolphin stranded on the beach in West Tremont. Staff and trained volunteers assessed the dolphin was healthy, and acted quickly to return it to deeper water as the tide came in. Rescuers watched the dolphin swim back offshore. The work was conducted under a stranding agreement between the National Marine Fisheries Service and Allied Whale under the authority of the Marine Mammal Protection Act.Anyone who sees a dolphin or other marine mammal stranded on the beach is urged to call Allied Whale at 266-1326.
