BAR HARBOR — No one was injured when a trailer used for storage and as a work shed was destroyed in a fire Tuesday afternoon on Pats Way in Town Hill. A portable toilet and small motorboat also were destroyed.
Firefighters responded when someone reported seeing black smoke in the area at 11:45 a.m. Two engines from the Town Hill fire station responded, and the Mount Desert Fire Department provided mutual aid. They had the fire completely out, protecting other equipment in the yard, before 1 p.m.
Due to the extent of the damage, Fire Chief Matt Bartlett said, they were unable to determine the cause of the fire. Emera Maine shut down power to the pole the trailer was plugged into.
