Shellfish flats open

AUGUSTA — The Department of Marine Resources on Friday announced that it has opened the Stockton Springs/Deer Isle/Stonington to Machiasport area to regional mussel, European mussel, carnivorous snail and clam harvesting. The area is reopened due to the decline in naturally occurring marine biotoxin. All other existing pollution and biotoxin closures remain in effect.
