Schools to save on heating fuel

BAR HARBOR — Schools in the Mount Desert Island Regional School System will save money on heating fuel in the coming year.

The schools had budgeted for fuel at a cost of $2.75 per gallon. Superintendent Marc Gousse told the school system board Monday that three fuel companies submitted bids and he has accepted the low bid of $2.29 cents per gallon from No Frills Oil.
