Santa visits Bar Harbor during Midnight Madness

BAR HARBOR — Singer and radio host Judy Pancoast led the crowd in singing “Here Comes Santa Claus” just before Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived in one of the Bar Harbor Fire Department engine trucks at the Village Green Friday for the annual Village Holidays and Midnight Madness Sales.

Children talked and took photos with Santa at at the YMCA. Also at the YMCA, children participated in craft activities and were invited to pick out a free book during the Mount Desert Islander’s annual Gift of Reading event.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust and 93.7 The Wave hosted revelers for apple cider and more carols around a camp fire in the bank’s parking lot on Main Street.

Sharon Linscott of Bar Harbor was the winner of the Chamber’s midnight raffle drawing for two round-trip tickets between Bar Harbor and Boston on Cape Air. Receipts from the evening’s shopping qualified shoppers to enter the raffle.
