Dems to talk ranked-choice

ELLSWORTH — The benefits and costs of ranked-choice voting (RCV) will be demonstrated and discussed at the Hancock County Democratic Committee’s next meeting, Thursday, Jan. 21, from 7-8 p.m., in the theater of the Bryant Moore Community Center on State Street.

RCV Campaign Manager Kyle Bailey and Dick Atlee will discuss the pluses and minuses of ranked-choice voting to help voters prepare for November’s referendum vote. If approved, Maine would be the first state to allow ranked-choice voting in statewide elections, now being done only in a few municipalities, including Portland, in several states.

This program is free and open to the public. Call Pam Person at 469-6770.
