Offender moves to Seal Cove



TREMONT — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is alerting residents that a registered sex offender has moved into the village of Seal Cove.

Carroll W. Butler, 47, is living at 170 Cape Road, according to the notification bulletin issued by Sheriff Scott Kane.

Butler was convicted in July 1998 of five counts of rape and abuse of a child under the age of 16 and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 in Middlesex Superior Court in Cambridge, Mass. He is a lifetime registrant on the Maine Sex Offender Registry.

Anyone with concerns about Butler’s activities can call the sheriff’s department at 667-7576.
