SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Residents have until 5 p.m. on March 8 to submit nomination papers for positions on the Board of Selectmen, the School Board, and the Mount Desert Island High School Board of Trustees.
All positions are for three-year terms.
Ingrid Kachmar, one of three Southwest Harbor representatives on the MDI High School Board of Trustees, said the Board of Trustees position is a good way for people who are interested in getting involved with the school to ease into it, because it’s less of a time commitment. Candidates can expect the board to meet up to six times a year.
“I would hope that whoever ran for the position was willing and able to make meetings and fulfill the duties of the position,” she said.
