Missing guide has MDI ties

MT. RANIER NAT’L PARK — A former Mount Desert Island technical climbing guide Eitan Green is one of six missing in Mount Ranier National Park. The climbers are presumed dead after apparently falling 3,000 feet earlier in June.

Jon Tierney, owner of Acadia Mountain Guides in Bar Harbor, told WABI TV last week that Green had worked for him for several summers. A Massachusetts native, Green reportedly tried rock climbing for the first time in Acadia National Park at age eight. He was a 2009 graduate of Colby College in Waterville and worked as an emergency medical technician there.
