Alan Mogridge
BAR HARBOR — A new executive director has been named at the Mount Desert Island YMCA, just two months after former director Kim Harty announced her intention to leave.
Alan C. Mogridge, most recently the director of the Valley YMCA in Ansonia, Conn., is set to take over the helm of the MDI Y at the beginning of March. Dean Read, immediate past board chairman, will serve as the interim executive director until then.
“I am so excited to return to Maine,” Mogridge is quoted as saying in a press release from MDI Y executives. “The best years of my life were spent here in Maine and I have such fond memories of Mount Desert Island. I am really looking forward to joining the island community as the new leader of the Mount Desert Island YMCA.”
