FarmDrop

FarmDrop is an online farmers market program. It was created as a fall and winter operation, but the response from the community and the opportunity to operate out of Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s barn for the summer months have allowed the online shopping continue year-round. Customers choose from a variety of local vegetables, meat, eggs, dairy products, fresh seafood and preserves, make a single payment and pick up their order weekly at the FarmDrop site in Somesville. Visit mdi.farmdrop.us.

DAYS/TIME: Saturday 10 a.m. – Thursday 10 a.m. (to place an order)

PICKUP LOCATION: Maine Coast Heritage Trust barn in Somesville (Route 102)

Bar Harbor Farm

The farm is a Community Supported Agriculture program, meaning members buy a share and receive a selection of vegetables weekly. A variety of plans is available. Visit barharborfarm.net

MOUNT DESERT — The season of FarmDrop, an online farmers market, has been extended by partners Healthy Acadia and Maine Coast Heritage Trust.

Mount Desert Island FarmDrop customers can pick up their orders at the MCHT barn in Somesville, located just 500 feet up the road from FarmDrop’s current location at Floret, until operations return to Floret in the fall.

FarmDrop customers choose from a variety of local vegetables, meat, eggs, dairy products, fresh seafood and preserves, make a single payment, and pick up their order weekly at the FarmDrop site. Farmers benefit from reduced time spent off the farm and the security of a harvest-to-order operation.

Visit www.mdi.farmdrop.us between Saturday at 10 a.m. and Thursday at 10 a.m. to place an order.

Contact Rachel Emus at [email protected] or 667-7171.
