SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The opening day June 18 of the Southwest Harbor Fleet’s Luders 16 class racing featured plenty of sunshine and sea breeze.

Ned Johnston in Domino was the day’s winner with bullets in two of the day’s four races.

Chris Booher and crew in Surprise edged out Jim Fernald in Sea Bee to win the final race. That bullet and two second-place finishes put Surprise in second place for the series. Sea Bee was third place on the day.

The race committee included Fran and Sue Charles on Shearwater and Scott Homer on Mema.
