Low-impact exercise

ELLSWORTH — The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center will host a free, 7-week class of low-impact aerobics, weight resistance and yoga. The weekly class will begin on Feb. 6 and run through March 20 from 5 – 6 p.m. at the Beth Wright Center at 23 Commerce Park.

Taught by Stacey Giancarlo Estes, this class also consists of “tummy exercises such as excessive laughing, heartwarming camaraderie, and rewarding distraction from the demands of life,” organizers said.

Estes is a breast cancer survivor who joined an exercise group during her cancer treatments. While at first she did so half-heartedly, she soon “realized that the exercise made both her body and mind feel better.”

This exercise series is designed for cancer survivors, caregivers and anyone interested.
