Librarian partnership considered

TREMONT — The Bass Harbor Memorial Library and the Tremont Consolidated School are considering a partnership agreement that would have a library employee work part-time as librarian at the school.

Library director Clara Baker said the library’s board of trustees has been discussing the possibility with school officials.

“It’s in the very early stages,” Baker said of talks.

Baker noted a similar sharing of staff has been happening between libraries and schools in Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor.
