It’s a girl: first MDI baby of 2013 born

BAR HARBOR — Tammy Torrey and Kevin McDonald of Bernard are the proud parents of the 2013 New Year’s Baby at Mount Desert Island Hospital.

Their daughter, Brooke Wilder McDonald, was born on Jan. 11, 2013.

In celebration of the arrival of the first baby of the year, mother and child were presented with a collection of gifts donated from area residents and businesses including handmade items, gift certificates, clothing, diapers, toys, blankets and more. “We never expected so many wonderful gifts and we are very appreciative of the community’s generosity,” Torrey said.

Brooke was six pounds, nine ounces and 20.5 inches long. She has a four year old brother, Marshall, and a 15 year old sister, Dakota.

Torrey said she is also appreciative of all of the support she received from the Obstetrics nursing team at MDI Hospital and her physician Mary Dudzik, MD.
