Hodgdon named to presidents’ list

BANGOR — Former Tremont resident Ryan S. Hodgon was named to Husson University’s President’s List for the Fall 2017 semester. Hodgdon is a sophomore who is currently enrolled in Husson’s Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program.

Students who make the President’s List must carry at least 12 graded credit hours during the semester and earn a grade point average of between 3.80 to 4.0 during the period.

Corson on dean’s list

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Molly Corson of Bar Harbor has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s fall 2017 dean’s list.

Eligibility for the honor requires that a student accumulate an academic GPA of 3.5-3.699 and earn 12 credits for the semester.

Area students earn Husson honors

BANGOR — The following students have been named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Husson University.

Aaron Joseph Boumil of Bar Harbor is a sophomore in the bachelor in kinesiology-human movement science/doctor of physical therapy program.

Emily R. Butler of Bar Harbor is a sophomore in the bachelor in communications technology with a concentration in video production program.

Benjamin W. Walls of Bar Harbor is a senior in the bachelor in sport management/master of business administration program.

Meghan R. Catanese of Trenton is a senior in the bachelor in hospitality and tourism management/master of business administration with a concentration in hospitality and tourism management program.

Sarah E. Luna of Trenton is a senior in the bachelor in educational studies with a concentration in elementary education program.

To make the dean’s list, students must carry at least 12 graded credit hours during the semester and earn a grade point average of between 3.60 and 3.79 during the period.

The following students have been named to the fall 2017 honors list at Husson.

Delia Rose Hallett of Bar Harbor is a sophomore yet to declare a major.

Shelby K. Parsons of Bar Harbor is a first-year student in the bachelor in sport management program.

Bryan Sidelinger of Bar Harbor is a sophomore in the bachelor in mass communications with a concentration in sports journalism program.

Robert Olekszak of Mount Desert is a junior in the bachelor in business and liberal studies program.

Sierra S. Myrick of Southwest Harbor is a junior who has yet to declare a major.

To make the honors list, students must carry at least 12 graded credit hours during the semester and earn a grade point average of between 3.4 and 3.59 during the period.

The following students have been named to the fall 2017 president’s list at Husson.

Malorie Dawn Young of Bar Harbor is a senior in the bachelor in criminal justice program.

William Howard Michael Richard of Mount Desert is a senior in the bachelor in physical education program.

To make the president’s list, students must carry at least 12 graded credit hours during the semester and earn a grade point average of between 3.80 and 4.0 during the period.

Dominy on URI dean’s list

KINGSTON, R.I. — Jessica Dominy of Bar Harbor was named to the fall dean’s list at The University of Rhode Island.

To be included on the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

Watras, Carroll earn honors

DURHAM, N.H. — Two local students are on the dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire for fall 2017.

Emma Watras of Seal Cove earned high honors.

Courtney Carroll of Southwest Harbor and Eddington earned honors.

Carignan on dean’s list

POTSDAM, N.Y. — Samuel L. Carignan of Bar Harbor was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Clarkson University.

Carignan is a sophomore majoring in aeronautical engineering-mechanical engineering.

Dean’s list students must achieve a minimum 3.25 GPA and carry at least 14 credit hours.

Area students on UMaine dean’s list

ORONO — Several students from Mount Desert Island were named to the dean’s List at the University of Maine for the fall 2017 semester.

Sierra Bloom, Caroline Bromberg, Molly Brown, Jennifer Clemens, Nathan Vonder Haar and Ian Wanner, all of Bar Harbor, were named to the list.

Kathleen Murphy of Bass Harbor was honored.

Megan Howell, Samuel Johnson, Madeleine Macauley and Jane Pappas, all of Mount Desert, were named to the list.

Mea Clark of Northeast Harbor also was included.

Devin Christianson and Abigail Irvine, both of Seal Cove, are on the dean’s list.

Hannah Murphy, Brigitte Parady, Lindsey Robbins and Nicholas Soper, all of Trenton, have been honored.

To be on the dean’s list, a student had to complete 12 or more credit hours in the semester and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Some students have requested that their information not be released; therefore, their names are not included.

Four on Augusta dean’s list

AUGUSTA — Four island students have been named to the University of Maine at Augusta full-time dean’s list for fall 2017.

They are Mckenzie Young of Bar Harbor, Jessica Bass of Bass Harbor, Jani Mesiniemi of Mount Desert and Kiersten Rounsevill of Seal Harbor.

To merit the honor, students must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.25 or higher.

LaValle on dean’s list

WATERVILLE — Nellie S. LaValle of Bar Harbor was recently named to the dean’s list at Colby College for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

LaValle, a member of the class of 2018, attended Mount Desert Island High School and is the daughter of David LaValle of Bar Harbor and Heather Halliday of Hulls Cove. LaValle had to earn a semester GPA of 3.77 or higher last fall to be included on the list. She majored in government.
