MOUNT DESERT — The Somes-Meynell Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting a free talk about Maine coastal island seabirds on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. at 57 Pretty Marsh Road.
The Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge manages 60 islands from Cobscook Bay to the New Hampshire coast. Many of these islands are important seabird nesting islands.
Refuge Wildlife Biologist Linda Welch will talk about the latest on nesting status and movement patterns of iconic Maine species including puffins, razorbills, gulls, cormorants, and common and arctic terns.
