Hospice regatta

MOUNT DESERT — The 20th Annual Hospice Regatta of Maine is set for Friday and Saturday, July 8-9.

The Junior Hospice Regatta, hosted by the MDI Community Sailing Center and the Northeast Harbor Sailing School, will sail on Friday, July 8. Southwest Harbor Fleet races featuring Luders and Bulleyes classes also are planned for Friday. The Northeast Harbor Fleet’s Cruising and IOD classes sail on Saturday.

“You don’t have to be a sailor to join the fun,” said Jody Wolford-Tucker, director of Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County. “Supporters have the opportunity to go out on the Maine Sea Coast Mission’s Sunbeam to view the races and enjoy a lunch cruise. Plus, all are invited to join the Hospice Regatta Rendezvous waterside cocktail party at Morris Yachts in Northeast Harbor from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.”

The Hospice Regatta of Maine provides needed funding for the compassionate care and support offered to individuals and families dealing with life-limiting conditions and grief, all provided free of charge.
