Grief support



ELLSWORTH — Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County announces the 2019 Winter Grief Support Group series.

“During and after the holidays, individuals may experience grief related to the loss of a loved one,” a statement from the group said. “This can create a sense of emptiness.”

The groups are intended to provide a safe space to acknowledge those feelings and receive support for moving through them.

A group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide will meet Mondays, Jan. 14 to March 4, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Francis by the Sea Church, Blue Hill.

A group for widows, widowers and partners will meet Mondays, Jan. 14 to March 4, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County, Ellsworth.

A workshop for aging and loss will meet Tuesdays, Jan. 15 to Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County, Ellsworth.

A group for those who have lost a loved one will meet Wednesdays, Jan. 16 to March 6, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County, Ellsworth.

All groups are free of charge but require pre-registration by Jan. 8.
