BAR HARBOR — In honor of the 105th anniversary of Girl Scouting and the 100th anniversary of Acadia National Park, Girl Scouts of Maine and the Mount Desert Island Girl Scouts are planning to host a historical exhibit of Girl Scouting in Acadia in October. They are asking for the public’s help.
“We are looking for historic photographs (scans would be preferable), memorabilia or reminiscences of troops visiting Acadia National Park,” said organizer Heidi Smallidge.
“If you are a former scout and would like to assist in this project, please call me at 460-4174,” she added.
Temporary donations of memorabilia and photos are welcome.
The exhibit will be located in downtown Bar Harbor during the weekend of Oct. 1 and will be open to the public.
