ORLAND — WERU radio will broadcast a discussion about the free press and a functioning democracy on Friday, Feb. 15 from 10–11 a.m.
Guests will include Earl Brechlin, founding former editor of the Mount Desert Islander and former editor of the Bar Harbor Times; Burt Neuborne, professor at NYU Law School; and Judy Woodruff, the anchor and managing editor of PBS Newshour.
This program is part of a regular monthly radio series, Democracy Forum that focuses on topics of participatory democracy. The series is produced by the League of Women Voters-Downeast.
This program is being produced as part of a project on Journalism and Democracy with support from the Maine Humanities Council and is co-sponsored by The Ellsworth American and the Mount Desert Islander.
