Former Bar Harbor manager up for Arizona job

TREMONT — The town’s interim town manager is one of seven candidates for the position of city manager in Sedona, Ariz.

Dana Reed confirmed Tuesday that he is one of the candidates for the job. Reed became interim town manager of Tremont in June. He was town manager of Bar Harbor from 1986 until the spring of 2014.

According to the Sedona city website, Reed is among those chosen as finalists from a field of 108 candidates. At a Jan. 30 city council meeting, councilors voted to invite nine applicants for in-person interviews. As of Feb. 2, only seven of those people had accepted the offer to be interviewed.

The interview process is to span several days, with candidates meeting formally, and informally, with councilors, city employees and members of the public. The schedule published by the city begins with candidates attending an 8 a.m. meet and greet on Wednesday, March 4 and ending Friday, March 5 with councilors meeting in executive session for follow-up interviews, if needed.

According to the city website, the other finalists are Chad Adams, city manager of Albert Lea, Minn.; Justin Clifton, city manager of Delta, Colo.; Anthony O’Rourke, city manager of Yakima, Wash.; D. Michael Segrest, local government consultant of Snowmass Village, Colo.; Eileen Stein, city manager of Mount Angel, Ore.; and Sandra Wilson, deputy county manager of Maricopa County, Ariz.
