Five seeking two council seats

BAR HARBOR — Following Friday’s filing deadline for annual Town Meeting elections, five candidates will be on the ballot for two open seats on the town council here.

Matthew Hochman, Peter Liscomb, Nicholas MacCulloch, Paul Paradis and Nathan Young had each returned nomination papers signed by at least 25 town residents.

Kristi Losquadro will be the only candidate on the ballot for two open positions on the superintending school committee. Robert Webber is the only candidate for one seat representing Bar Harbor on the Mount Desert Island High School board of trustees.

Profiles of the candidates in contested races will appear in the Islander prior to town meeting.

Town Meeting and State elections are set for Tuesday, June 14, a week after the Annual Town Meeting June 7.
