‘Fake news’ is talk focus

ELLSWORTH — A 10-month public dialogue series sponsored by the League of Women Voters-Downeast will continue with a conversation on the topic “Fake news: Who can you trust?” at Pat’s Pizza on Wednesday, April 26, from 5:30-7 p.m.

Guests will be Earl Brechlin, author and editor of the Mount Desert Islander; Stephen Fay, managing editor of The Ellsworth American; and Josh Roiland, assistant professor of communications and journalism at the University of Maine.

Each topic first is discussed on the league’s Democracy Forum radio program, which airs on WERU-FM the third Friday of the month, from 10-11 a.m. On April 21guests will discuss fake news with moderator Ann Luther of the League of Women Voters. Listeners can call in with questions in the second half of the show.
