MOUNT DESERT — Ronald H. Epp will give a talk about conservation at the Northeast Harbor Library on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 5:30 p.m.
The talk is called “Writing about Conservation Giants: Two Decades of Living with George Dorr, Charles W. Eliot and J.D. Rockefeller Jr.”
Acadia National Park would not exist without the foresight of these three individuals. Epp’s talk is part of the Acadia National Park Centennial celebration and follows the recent publication of his new book, called “Creating Acadia National Park: The Biography of George Dorr.”
Epp is a historian and professor of philosophy. He is the retired director of the Shapiro Library at Southern New Hampshire University. His longtime research into Acadia’s early history and personages has led to published articles in magazines and newsletters of many Acadia-area organizations.
This talk is free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome.
