Elver landings

AUGUSTA — The Maine elver season opened Friday, March 22. As of 6 p.m. Sunday, the Department of Marine Resources (DMR) announced just under 35 pounds landed and sold so far.

Passamaquoddy fishermen reported 17.59 pounds of the tribe’s 1,356 pound overall quota. The source of the remaining 17 pounds was not reported “because of confidentiality rules,” according to the DMR.

Dealers reported buying a total of 34.895 pounds with a reported value of $55,832 for average price per pound of $1,600.
