Science grants for teachers

ELLSWORTH — The Maine Community Foundation is accepting applications for John and Ellen Emery Science Grants of $100 to $2,000. They are available for full-time K-12 teachers in AOS No. 91, with priority given to K-8 teachers. AOS No. 91 is also known as the Mount Desert Island Regional School System.

The grants are designed to increase opportunities for students to understand science and its relevance to their daily lives and perhaps inspire them to pursue careers in science. Teachers in all disciplines are invited to apply.

More details of the program are available in the grants section of www.mainecf.org. Applications must be made by April 30.
