MDI native is a top educator

CHICAGO, Ill. — Mount Desert Island native Robert Hodgdon has received two honors this year for excellence in environmental education. First, he was named 2015 SeaWorld Outstanding Environmental Educator at the National Science Teachers Convention.

More recently, Hodgdon received a 2014-2015 Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Hodgdon is the brother of Maine comedian Jason “Krazy Jake” Hodgdon of Falmouth and Theresa Hodgdon of Bar Harbor. He is a seventh-grade advanced content life science teacher at Richmond Hill Middle School in Georgia. He and his wife, Stacey, live in coastal Georgia with their children, Abigail and Connor.
