Key MDI High School posts filled



BAR HARBOR — Julie Keblinsky of Ellsworth, currently the dean of instruction for school district RSU 24, has been named the new dean of curriculum at Mount Desert Island High School.

She succeeds Matt Haney, who will take over as the school’s principal on July 1. Her salary is $79,435.

Mark Carignan has been hired as guidance counselor, succeeding Burt Barker, who is retiring after a long career at MDI High.

Carignan has 25 years of counseling experience and is currently a counselor at Morse High School in Bath. His starting salary at MDI High is $61,236.

Haney and athletic director Bunky Dow also have filled the new position of athletic trainer. They have hired Daniel Vibert, a certified athletic trainer with a degree in sports medicine who has worked at high schools in Florida. His starting salary is $33.638.
