Dow wins write-in for MDI High board of trustees

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — With nine write-in votes in the May 6 election, Erica Dow has become one of Southwest Harbor’s representatives on the Mount Desert Island High School board of trustees, which is responsible for the school’s buildings and grounds.

Incumbent trustee Eric Henry, who did not seek re-election, received 12 write-in votes, but declined to serve. He already is a member of the Southwest Harbor school committee.

Dow finished third among four candidates for two seats on the school committee in the town meeting election.
