ELLSWORTH — National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will take place at the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce, located at 163 High St, and at other locations around the county on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its Drug Take-Back Day in collaboration with Ellsworth Police Department, Healthy Acadia and the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce.
Community members are encouraged to bring in any unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs for this free, anonymous service, hosted by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Ellsworth Police Department, Healthy Acadia and the chamber.
The following police departments are hosting Drug Take-Back events that same day, but from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Bar Harbor, Bucksport, Mount Desert, Southwest Harbor and Gouldsboro.
Additional disposal opportunities are available in the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bar Harbor, Bucksport, Ellsworth, Mount Desert and Southwest Harbor police departments and in the Sussman building at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. All boxes are accessible during regular business hours, and some are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Drop boxes cannot take needles, epinephrine pens or other sharps.
