BAR HARBOR – Traffic was rerouted down the Knox Road in Town Hill on Thursday afternoon after a stake-body pickup truck hit a utility pole and dropped a power line across Route 102, just north of the Town Hill General Store.
Three vehicles were involved in the accident. The drivers did not appear to be seriously injured; no one involved was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Another man was arrested on charges of criminal threatening near the accident site and taken into custody by Bar Harbor Police. The man ignored Sargent David Kerns’ instructions at one traffic detour point, then got into an argument with a firefighter working to keep traffic away from the downed power line. He threatened the firefighter and Officer Larry Fickett with a baseball bat.
