Tremont man summonsed on wedding ring theft charge

MOUNT DESERT — A Tremont man has been charged with theft after police located a diamond ring he allegedly stole from a residence at a Bangor pawn shop.

Nathan Harkins, 31, was summonsed May 26 on a class C theft charge following an investigation by Officer Ken Mitchell.

Mitchell said Harkins was working as a housecleaner at an Otter Creek residence when he allegedly took a diamond ring valued at $5,000 and a wedding band valued at $500. The wedding band and money paid Harkins by the pawn shop have not been recovered, Mitchell said.
