Teens charged after police bust underage drinking party

ELLSWORTH — Ten teenagers from coastal Hancock County were charged with underage drinking Oct. 11, and one of them was arrested. Police responded to a report of an underage drinking party on Hallbrook Way shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, according to a report at the Ellsworth Police Department. Brandon Braley, 19, of Ellsworth was arrested and charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume liquor as well as illegal possession (consumption) of liquor by a minor. Three 18-year-olds also were charged with the latter offense: Sidney St. Peter of Ellsworth, Finn McMahon of Surry and Morgan Card of Ellsworth. Three 17-year-olds also were charged with illegal possession (consumption) of liquor by a minor: a girl from Lamoine, a boy from Hancock and a girl from Bass Harbor. Two 16-year-olds also were charged with the same offense — a girl from Bar Harbor and a boy from Ellsworth — as was a 15-year-old girl from Bar Harbor. Officer Chad Wilmot was the Ellsworth officer who dealt with the incident. He was assisted by Deputy Jacob Day of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, who helped with writing summonses and with taking the teens home.
