Motorcyclist injured in Route 102 crash

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — A motorcyclist was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor Aug. 7 after his bike was hit by a car while he was traveling on Route 102.

Edward Hadlock, 30, of Trenton was northbound on Route 102 when a southbound 2003 Lexus driven by Susan Hays, 87, of Greenwich, Conn., began turning onto the Fernald Point Road and into the path of the motorcycle.

Due to scattered thunderstorms in the area, Hadlock was taken by ambulance to the Bar Harbor-Trenton Airport, where conditions allowed the helicopter to land, police said.

Hadlock suffered a broken leg and other injuries. As of Tuesday, police did not know his condition.
