Island police: Woman hospitalized after crash

MOUNT DESERT — A Tremont woman escaped serious injury Dec. 11 after she reportedly fell asleep while driving on the Pretty Marsh Road.

Emma Lansing, 69, was at the wheel of a 2010 Subaru that left the travel way striking a tree head-on. Lansing reportedly complained of back and leg pain and was taken by Northeast Harbor Ambulance Service to Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor.

The Subaru is a total loss.

Bar Harbor

A Bar Harbor man is facing charges after police stopped his vehicle Monday on Ledgelawn Avenue.

Jason Locke, 32, was summonsed on charges of operating without a license and violating the conditions of his release.

Sergeant Shaun Farrar came to the aid Sunday of an injured person found lying in a municipal parking lot.

The injured person apparently had fallen and struck their head. The person was taken to Mount Desert Island Hospital for treatment.

A complaint Saturday of underage drinking landed one juvenile in trouble with the law. The juvenile was charged with operating while under the influence.

Police failed to locate the source of gunshots fired Saturday in the area surrounding Hamilton’s Pond.

Police are investigating a theft reported Saturday on Mount Desert Street and a burglary reported Friday at a Cedar Avenue residence.

Southwest Harbor

Natalie Brewer, 27, of Tremont was arrested Sunday on four active warrants charging her with failure to appear in court.


As a result of a traffic stop Friday, a 41-year-old driver from Calais was issued a summons.

Roland Beek was summonsed on a charge of operating after suspension. A passenger with a valid license took over the wheel.
