BAR HARBOR — An eight-year-old boy was taken to Mount Desert Island Hospital for treatment of facial injuries after the truck he was riding in rolled over in a single vehicle crash on Route 102 on May 5.
According to reports, Richard Kelley, 30, of Trenton was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck reportedly left the road and struck two trees before coming to a rest on its side. Kelley and an adult passenger escaped without injury. The truck was considered a total loss.
Daniel Hernandez, 21, of Hampden was arrested Sunday on a probation violation on Rodick Place after police reportedly found him sitting on the curb vomiting. He allegedly took off running when approached but was quickly apprehended. He was summonsed on a charge of refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
Zachary Rand, 24, of Southwest Harbor was arrested Sunday on a charge of violating the conditions of his release and was summonsed on a charge of possession of a scheduled drug (heroin).
Game Warden Phil Richter and Officer Christopher Wharff responded to a report of a rabid fox at a Route 102 property May 6. It was determined that the fox had mange and not rabies. Attempts to catch it were unsuccessful. On Friday, Officer Larry Fickett responded to a report of a sick-looking raccoon on Pleasant Street. He was unable to catch the animal.
On Saturday, Wharff dispatched a sick raccoon on Kebo Street.
Firefighters responded to Agamont Park May 5 where a mulch area was reported on fire. The caller had doused the flames by the time firefighters arrived. It was suspected that a discarded cigarette was to blame.
Christopher Dellinger-Flow, 34, of Florida was charged with criminal trespass May 6 after allegedly taking a table from a Cottage Street residence where he lived last year.
